Park inaugurated in 1876, home to the Saint Louis Art Mueum, the Missouri History Museum, the James S. McDonnell Planetarium.

This 526-acre park is located five miles west and on the axis of the Arch. Opened in 1876 for the centennial of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, it hosted the 1904 World's Fair, of which it still has a pavilion. In addition to green spaces, several water features and picnic areas, it is home to the Saint Louis Art Museum (1879), the Missouri History Museum (1866), the James S. McDonnell Planetarium (connected to the St. Louis Science Center), the Saint Louis Zoo, the open-air Muny Theater (1919), and sports fields.
