Stock car races are held here, not on asphalt but on a dirt ring. Because the clay tends to get very dry and hard, the track is very fragile. So the Speedway owners and race organizers spend most of the day before a race watering and grading the track to make sure the drivers have the best possible driving surface. It's an impressive sight and dust clouds are guaranteed in a deafening noise... Helmet or earplugs recommended.
