This restaurant is a replica of the original that stood until 1997 at 1,200 W College St. (a location now occupied by The Birdplace of The Route 66 Roadside Park). Opened in 1947 by Sheldon "Red" Chaney, the restaurant quickly became well known on Route 66 because of its sign where the final "ER" could not fit. Closed in 1984, then destroyed in 1997, the rights were taken over shortly after by David Campbell who rebuilt it identically... in 2019. Today it is a very popular place, specializing of course in burgers!
