Museum housing a collection of oil paintings by local artist Carol Bliss-Riley
The Galena Mining & Historical Museum chronicles 70 years of mining in the area. In addition to the history of the town, there are beautiful mineral specimens, mining equipment and a model of the mine located in Central City, east of Galena. Also on display is a collection of oil paintings (entitled Abandoned Mine Scenes) by local artist Carol Bliss-Riley. Outside, military equipment is stored somewhat incongruously.
