The Brush Arch Bridge was designed and built in 1923 by James Barney Marsh
The Brush Arch Bridge (also known as the Rainbow Bridge, because of its rainbow shape) was designed by James Barney Marsh and built in 1923. After a hard fight by the Kansas Route 66 Association with county officials, the bridge can still be crossed despite the bypass put in place in 1992. Of the three bridges of this type and by the same engineer built on Route 66, it is the last one still intact. A photo is inevitable!
