PRYOR CREEK BRIDGE
Metal bridge located on the original route of Route 66 before its detour in 1932 in Chelsea
Built in 1926, this bridge was located on the original route of Route 66 before its detour in 1932. At 123 feet long (approximately 38 meters), it is the only surviving example of a modified truss bridge in Oklahoma. On the concrete above the southwest abutment is inscribed "Okla S.H.C. 1926," which is a reference to the Oklahoma State Highway Commission, the sponsor and builder of the structure. This bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. It can be crossed on foot and by vehicle.
