Palace in the extension of the bridge dedicated to Cyrus Avery, the first Route 66 stamped achievement of the city's 2025 project
Opened in 2008, the plaza is located at the extension of the bridge, also dedicated to Cyrus Avery, that spans the Arkansas River. The flags of the eight states crossed by Route 66 are placed in a semi-circle around two bronze statues to form East Meets West. The scene depicts a horse-drawn wagon on the way to the oil fields west of Tulsa, facing Cyrus Avery and his family in a Model T Ford.
