The building has a long history, beginning with the first baby born in Oklahoma City on May 19, 1889, Belle Cunnhingham, who was the wife of Lawrence L.L Cheever. While the owners have changed, Cheever's Building has remained. White tablecloths, a bit of fancy decor, stylish service: we're in a higher category than most Route 66 restaurants. The cuisine has influences from the southwest of the USA. Among the specialties: the Queso Chihuahua Juan (with black beans), the Cheever's Chicken Fried Steak or the Mixed Seafood Tamale.
