Grave of Lucille Hamons

The headstone of Lucille Hamons, who became a Route 66 legend over the years, is easy to spot: the upper part is decorated with a large Route 66 shield. The inscriptions mention her nickname, "Mother of the Mother Road", given for her extreme kindness. Her grave is regularly decorated with flowers left by those who knew her and those who are nostalgic for those beautiful years. The grave of her son, Carl, who died at the age of 27 and is never mentioned in the legend, as well as those of the other members of the family, are located next to her.
