DEVIL'S ROPE AND ROUTE 66 MUSEUM
The largest museum in the world and the only one dedicated to barbed wire invented by a farmer in 1874.
Besides a photographic exhibition on the Dust Bowl, the first section of this museum is about Route 66. There are many beautiful pieces from that time. The second section is devoted to barbed wire, invented in 1868, its use in ranching, but also elsewhere and during the wars, and the tools used. Finally, a tribute is paid to Alfred Rowe, the founder of the city. The two barbed wire balls at the entrance of the building weigh 180 kilos each.
