MOTEL SAFARI
Safari Motel in Tucumcari, with a personalized and warm welcome, offering comfortable and well-equipped rooms
The Safari Motel has been open since 1959. It was designed in an architectural style known as googie (or doo-wop). The camel on the sign is of course a reference to the word Safari chosen by the establishment, but also pays homage to Edward Fitzgerald Beale (1822-1893, a national figure in 19th century America) and his camel expedition into the area at the head of a Camel Corps. Rooms are comfortable and well-equipped, with period (or sometimes more contemporary) furnishings and plenty of vintage photographs. Free wifi.
