TEN THOUSAND WAVES JAPANESE SPA
Nestled in the mountains, this Japanese spa and hotel is absolutely sublime. On a fairly steep hill, you'll climb up stairs and paths to this quaint, modern Japanese structure, surrounded by forests and atmospheric garlands. Don't worry, you can also drive right up to the entrance. It's like being in a real Japanese onsen . For those looking for fitness, relaxation or romance, this is probably the best address around. You can practically live here without ever leaving the premises. Between the spa, the rooms, the surrounding nature and the upscale Japanese restaurant, there's plenty to keep you entertained, disconnected from the stresses of everyday life. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well-decorated. The spa offers whirlpool baths, massages, beauty treatments, saunas, showers, and the list goes on. In terms of baths, they offer several options: kojiro, shoji, waterfall, new wave, shin kobuta, ichiban, ofuro, and the grand bath. The Grand Bath is an outdoor hot tub, similar to a traditional Japanese onsen , with temperatures of up to 41 degrees. It's particularly pleasant in winter, when you're surrounded by snow in contrast to the steam that evaporates from the bath. Please note that some baths require advance booking, as they are sometimes designed as private, individual experiences.
