KIMO THEATRE
Kimo Theatre combines the spirit of Southwestern Native American culture with Art Deco, and can be admired while attending a show
The Kimo Theatre opened its doors on September 19, 1927, almost a century ago. Its style combines the spirit of Southwestern Amerindian culture with Art Deco, resulting in a very distinctive and almost unique architecture. Partially destroyed by fire in 1960 and falling into disrepair, it was almost demolished. The municipality bought it back in 1977 and restored it entirely, bringing it up to safety standards. It is not open to the public, and the only way to admire the interior is to attend a show.
