Visitor Center in one of the oldest buildings on the South Rim. One section is dedicated to the history of the Grand Canyon.
Located near the Hopi House and El Tovar Hotel, this building was constructed in 1906. It is therefore one of the oldest buildings on the South Rim. After belonging to the Verkamp family for over a century, it became the property of Grand Canyon National Park in 2008. In addition to a visitor center staffed by rangers who can tell you all about the park and its activities, part of the building is dedicated to the history of the Grand Canyon and its pioneers, with a permanent exhibition on the subject. Books and souvenirs for sale.
