HACKBERRY GENERAL STORE
This museum, gift store and visitor center is full of little treasures
This former general store is now a souvenir store. It was artist Bob Waldmire who renovated the store in 1992 before selling it in 1998 to John and Kerry Pritchard. Since then, the store has changed hands several times. The interior is richly decorated with old photos, sometimes anachronistic with Route 66 (Marilyn, Elvis or James Dean are not the most famous personalities of The Mother Road!) but is full of little treasures. Outside, a cheerful bric-a-brac and several old cars make the photographers happy.
