Locomotive Park is home to steam locomotive #3759 and acaboose, which was added to the site in 1987. Donated to the city in 1957 by the Santa Fe Railway Company, this "Northern Type" locomotive was built in 1928 by Baldwin Locomotive Works. Originally coal-fired, it was converted to oil-fired use in 1941. It ran between Los Angeles and Kansas City for many years, covering a total of 4.1 million miles. Its last trip, from Los Angeles to Barstow, was in 1953.
