Sadly, this was the worst motel I have ever stayed at. I will let the pictures tell most of the story. First I was given a key to an occupied room. Mistakes happen I thought. I was given another room…a “better” room I was told. After getting dinner, bringing our bags in, and sitting down my daughter looked in the bathroom and told me she wasn’t going to shower that it was dirty. Well, I went and looked…. there was a bar of bar and a travel size bottle of body wash, shampoo…something from a previous person in the shower. A puddle of dirty water on the shower floor. Water spots covering the shower glass door. It hadn’t been cleaned! I decided to investigate further and the sink had not been washed either. Dirty hand prints all over the faucet. The paper wrapped soap on the sink was sitting in water. It hadn’t been cleaned! There was a cigarette hole in the blanket…the room is non smoking. The bed looked as if it was just made using slept in sheets! There was a graham cracker stuck between the couch and table(?). The door had dirty foot prints all over it. I went to the office to share my findings. The woman asked me when I checked in. It had been maybe an hr or he and a half before. She asked me if I was “sure” I hadn’t showered….if maybe it was my things. The faucet, she said, she couldn’t tell what it was in the picture. Then she stated I needed to speak to the manager in the morning. So I went back to the room brought blankets and my pillows from my vehicle to sleep on and “slept”. Of course I sprayed the faucet and toilet down with spray hand sanitizer! The next morning I went to the office to speak to the manager and the same woman from the previous night was there. She said the manager had to go to a conference in LA. I asked her if she knew that 8 hrs before this. She said it was a surprise, that she was called in. She went into the back APARTMENT to “call” the manager. Came back out after 4 or 5 minutes and said she couldn’t get ahold of her. I would have to call the managers number on the Expedia app. I asked for a receipt and she said you didn’t get one last night when you checked in? I hadn’t, and she said oh well your receipt is in your Expedia app. And we left. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL! After driving for over 10 hours through 3 states, this is what we had to endure! It was miserable and it was not made right! I also had to park almost sideways as my pickup didn’t fit without sticking out in the drive. We were up all night from people arguing(?) and sirens going up an down the street. It is not a good location either.
The room with double beds and full kitchen was definitely redone recently. Furniture and appliances were in like new condition. Floor had some damage, and the room had a funky odor. Parking lot worked for us, but would not recommend for a large SUV or Truck.
Nice location
Paper thin walls so you hear other rooms talking and you hear the road quite well
Also some kind of smell when I arrived at the room that wouldn’t go away
Very cute, motel. Clean quiet room for a great price. Friendly staff. No frills but my husband loved looking at all of the vintage cars and things. Walking distance to restaurants.
Extremely nice motel! Great decor, off route 66 and friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. Highly recommendNice clean room with modern feel - check the new sink/vanity in the photos, new furniture, decent size fridge (I have seen and reviewed places without fridges and with microscopic ones. Microwave. Even the receptacles were modern - having USB slots to charge your devices.
The woman owner of this cannot speak English very well and has to use her phone to translate everything
Her husband is the one that can speak fairly well. This being said my husband and I stayed there on a Friday night, went on north to handle some business the next morning. We accidently left our orthopedic pillows in the room. Later that morning I discovered this and immediately called the motel. The owner ( male) assured me they were there and after I told him we would be back thru the nextorning he said he would keep them at the desk for us. When we arrived, and after translations on the phone with the woman, I was told that the maid threw them in the dumpster.
They would make sure that the, then fired maid, would pay me for them or send me a pillow to replace the lost.
I've called several times and have yet to receive any restitution.
That was 2 months ago. No phone call, no email, no text NO PILLOW.
My conclusion is that they lied to us and are untrustworthy people and I certainly will not recommend their business to anyone.

My girlfriend and I stayed here before going to Mojave Preserve the next day and it was a great stay! Definitely an older hotel but the rooms have been remodeled nicely and made for a great experience. The girl at check-in was very friendly as well even though we got there at 11pm which was shortly before they close.
The room was very cheap which was nice since we just wanted a place to sleep and take off in the morning. Walking in, the room was very clean and smelled good. The room also had a large flat screen tv with lots of movies available to watch which was nice. Easy to access plugs and usb chargers on both sides of the bed too! I'd definitely stay here again if I need a place to stay in Barstow
Dernière nuit sur la route 66 avant arrivée à Los Angeles. Bonne surprise, certes motel avec qualité moyenne mais motel historique. Bon accueil. Emplacement.
