CALIFORNIA THEATRE

A remarkable theater, rich in history, and home to the beautiful 216-pipe Wurlitzer organ in Downtown San Bernardo.
Opened in 1928 by Fox West Coast Theaters, it was here that the first performances of future blockbusters that Hollywood wanted to "test" in the 1930s took place. This was the case for films such as King Kong and The Wizard of Oz. The California Theatre is also the last stage where Will Rogers performed on June 28, 1935, shortly before his death in a plane crash. Two murals were painted in his honor in 1997 on the east and west walls. The facility regularly hosts the Symphony Orchestra of San Bernardino.
