ABBOTT HALL
Romanesque building with a clock that houses a museum that presents the maritime history of the city.
Take 15 minutes to visit Marblehead Town Hall, a Romanesque building dating from 1876. Its beautiful pendulum clock, added the following year, must be set every week. Inside the building, a small museum, the Maritime Museum, presents the town's maritime history, and a second, the Sign Museum, displays the town's old store fronts. Take time to admire the Spirit of '76 painting, created in 1875 by Archibald Williard and reproduced many times. Admission is free.
