THE HAWTHORNE HOTEL
Hotel in the heart of downtown, right next to the Salem Witch Museum, with very New England style rooms
In the heart of the city centre, right next to the Salem Witch Museum, this vast historic hotel offers 93 rooms in a very New England style: fireplace, woodwork and curtains matching the bedspreads. The hotel is named after writer Nathaniel Hawthorne, son of one of the Salem Witch Trial judges and author of The House of seven Gables. The hotel has two restaurants. They are crowded at Halloween time for the very famous annual ball (around 90 US$ the entrance with access to the buffet), to be reserved almost a year in advance!
