DERBY HOUSE
House acquired by the U.S. National Park that offers free tours led by Maritime National Park rangers.
This house was built by Elias Hasket Derby, a wealthy sea captain, in 1762. He gave it to his wife as a wedding present, and they lived here for twenty years, with their seven children. This beautiful brick house was later sold to another sea captain, before finally being acquired by the US National Park. Free guided tours are led by Maritime National Park rangers. For schedules and reservations, visit the Visitor Center at 2 New Liberty Street.
