GEDNEY HOUSE
House built in 1665 with typical 17th century architecture in Salem.
Built in 1665, this house has the typical architecture of the 17th century. In its center, a vast living room where the fireplace is located. At the time of its construction, the house had two rooms on the ground floor and only one on the first floor, which made it asymmetrical. The house bears the name of the person who built it: Eleazor Gedney, who was a shipbuilder at the time... Originally, the house offered access to the water where the owner of the premises had his workshop. The house was later enlarged in the 18th and 19th centuries.
