The birthplace of Abigail Adams, first lady of the President of the United States and mother of the President.
First lady, wife of John Adams,2nd President of the United States and his closest advisor, mother of John Quincy Adams, 6th President, Abigail remains etched in the collective memory as one of the most influential and respected women in American history. Abigail Smith's birthplace (1744) was her home until 1764, the year of her marriage to John Adams. Restoration work has recently been completed. The house can be visited every second Sunday of the month from May to November. Private tours on request.
