Mill used by the Pilgrims to grind corn, built by settler John Jenney in 1636 in Plymouth
This mill is a reconstruction of the original mill used by the Pilgrims to grind corn. Settler John Jenney undertook its construction in 1636 and operated the mill until his death eight years later. His wife Sarah took over, soon assisted by her son. This replica is based on parts from a mill found in Pennsylvania in the early 1800s. The tour will enable you to learn more about the history of the mill and the processes used by settlers to grind corn.
