Opened in 2008, the Currier Museum of Art reflects the rich cultural life of the region. The building houses 13,000 works of art. Among the most notable are canvases by American painters Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keeffe and John Singer Sargent. There is also an important collection of European paintings, with works by Picasso, Monet, Matisse and a few by Italian masters. In fine weather, "Art After Work" takes place every Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm, with live music in the Winter Garden Café.
