The oldest brick textile mill in the United States, hosting a museum dedicated to the textile industry in Laconia
On the banks of the Winnipesaukee River, in the centre of Laconia, is the oldest textile brick factory in the United States. The four-storey building (built in 1823) now houses a textile museum, an art gallery and an auditorium. It houses a gift shop, where you can buy souvenirs, books and handicrafts. You can also pick up brochures and walk along the river where the first settlers settled.
