BENNINGTON BATTLE MONUMENT
Monument with a breathtaking view of the city commemorating the Battle of Bennington during the Revolutionary War
Erected at the end of the 19th century, the obelisk commemorates the Battle of Bennington (6 August 1777) during the War of Independence, when General Stark and his men opposed the British army. It is thanks to the arrival of Colonel Warner and his "Green Mountain Boys" that the two generals managed to repel the British army. A climb to the top of the monument will give you a breathtaking view of the city and the surrounding mountains.
