VFP
VFP is a secular non-profit association that has been coordinating the actions of International voluntary service since 1982. The Association is a member of the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS) of UNESCO and works in cooperation with the International Civil Service (SCI), the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organizations and the International Action of Youth for Peace (YAP). The VFP advises volunteers (more than 100 000) and facilitates exchange programs.
What do they propose ? Each year, the association offers hundreds of international workshops. These are the construction and restoration of housing or Community structures, projects relating to the environment, the maintenance of parks, organic farming, but also social sites with children, elderly persons, physically or mentally disabled, refugees, minority groups and, finally, information and education activities on the themes of the alcohol or AIDS, etc.
Where ? Western Europe and Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia, South, Central and North America. Or nearly 3 000 programs in more than 95 countries.
Profile and conditions. VFP programmes are open to all young people over the age of 18, regardless of their nationality. It is possible for countries to participate in workshops for those under the age of 18. The average age, however, is 21-25 years. The fee is US $ 500 per worksite (US $ 560 for those under 18 years of age), plus an annual contribution of $ 50 USD. It is better to know English.
