SHELBURNE FARMS
A National Historic Landmark site that welcomes young school children and houses a luxury hotel.
The site is a National Historic Landmark, and for good reason! The farmhouse dates back to the 19th century and offers a breathtaking view of Lake Champlain. The owners, William Seward Webb and his wife, had a New York architect build their 100-room mansion in the heart of the farm. Today, the building houses a luxury hotel. The site welcomes young schoolchildren to introduce them to agriculture and respect for the environment. Of particular interest is the dairy farm and its Vermont-made cheeses .
