BUSHNELL PARK
One of the oldest urban parks, home to rare tree species and a monument, events and festivals on site.
Americans' passion for urban parks begins here, and Bushnell Park is one of the oldest in the nation. Conceived in the mid-19th century to air out a city with a growing population, Bushnell Park today is home to hundreds of rare tree species. Events and festivals are organized there. As you stroll through the park, you'll notice an arch-shaped monument that looks like a fortified castle: the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch, which pays tribute to the city's residents who fought in the Civil War.
