Connecticut's regional train network connects 9 stations from New Haven to New London. It takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to get from New Haven to New London. If you want to travel in the region, the Shore Line East is a very good alternative to the Amtrak network. Fares are generally more affordable and it is not necessary to book in advance, as prices do not increase as the date of travel approaches. You can simply go to the station and buy your ticket at the dedicated ticket office. On board the trains, comfort is the order of the day.
