NEW HAVEN MUSEUM
Museum tracing the history of New Haven chronologically on two levels, beginning with the arrival of the Puritans in 1636.
This museum gives an excellent overview of the history of the city, which is discovered chronologically on two levels organized around a rotunda. On the ground floor, the story begins with the arrival of the Puritans in 1636, led by John Davenport, founder of the colony of New Haven. We then discover the impact of industrialization on the city, then its evolution into a metropolis. An exciting section is also devoted to the events of 1839 aboard the ship L'Amistad, where slaves rebelled against their captors.
