A visit to the Lyman Allyn Museum shows the city of New London's interest in art! More than 10,000 paintings and works of art are gathered in this vast Greek-looking building. From European masters to local Connecticut artists, this museum founded in 1926 is well worth a visit. Nicolas Poussin, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and Gilbert Stuart are among the artists whose works you will be able to admire. Note that the temporary exhibitions are often surprisingly original.
