This visitor center is located on the corridor formed by the Blackstone River Valley that begins in Massachusetts and ends in Rhode Island. It is part of a network of visitor centers dedicated to the valley. It focuses on the life of Roger Williams, who founded Rhode Island in 1636 after being banished from the Massachusetts colony because of his beliefs. He fought for religious freedom, now enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.
