Near Newport, on the Narragansett waterfront, amid the historic homes of 19th-century whaling captains, The Shore House offers 31 rooms, divided between the historic mansion and a newer building, with balcony-terrace and sea views. They combine traditional Victorian style with nautical charm. The veranda lined with rocking chairs, as well as the restaurant overlooking the beach, are very popular. Open from mid-May to mid-October, the restaurant from Wednesday to Sunday from mid-April.
