For many years, the owner of the property, Olivier Hazard Perry Belmont, lived alone in this Louis XIII style mansion. When he married Alva Vanderbilt, she brought elegance and sophistication to the Belmont bachelor suite. In 1956, after passing through the hands of several families, the house was bought by the Tinney couple, who filled it with objects and antiques so precious that they were almost stolen in 1983. The opulent rooms of the manor house, to be discovered during the guided tour, still bear the traces of its former owners.
