SOUTHEAST LIGHT
Gothic Revival style lighthouse with a small museum at the bottom of the tower, offering a guided tour with paid access
This lighthouse is located along the Mohegan Trail. Built in 1874, its Gothic Revival architecture is quite original for a New England lighthouse. Like many cliffside lighthouses, the entire Southeast Light structure had to be moved 90 m in 1993, due to erosion. There is a small museum dedicated to the lighthouse at the bottom of the tower. Access to the top of the tower is subject to a fee and is accompanied by a guided tour, which will enable you to learn more about the history of the lighthouse and shipwrecks along the coast.
