Block Island North Lighthouse
Historic lighthouse at the northern tip of Block Island with a museum on the first floor.
Historic lighthouse on the northern tip of Block Island. The original structure was built in 1829, and the present lighthouse was completed in 1867. Decayed by years of neglect, it was sold in 1984 to the town of New Shoreham - who restored it - for the modest sum of US$1. In 1993, the museum opened on the first floor. The tower cannot be visited. To reach it, follow Corn Neck Road, park and walk the 800 m to the lighthouse.
