IGREJA DO CARMO
Church of rococo baroque style, built at the end of the eighteenth century in the square of Gomes Teixeira in Porto.
Built at the end of the 18th century on the Gomes Teixeira square, opposite the university rectorate, the Carmelite church is in the Rococo Baroque style. The rectangular portal of its main façade is surmounted by a balcony and richly decorated corbels, with 4 statues representing the 4 evangelists at its top. The interior is illuminated by the main altar and the side chapels in gilded wood. Its side facade with enough room to catch the light, which highlights magnificent panels ofazulejos, dates from 1912.
