A fort built to defend the coast and Foz do Douro, also used to store supplies from the city to Porto.
This fort was built in the 16th century to defend the coast and the Foz do Douro. It was also used to store supplies for the city. It was here that the resistance against the Napoleonic invasions began in 1808. The fort is currently owned by the regional delegation of the National Defence Institute. Its dome is hexagonal in shape. The entrance portal (lever bridge, corridor...) was built by the engineer Reinaldo Oudinot in the 18th century.

Sans plus. C'est un fort comme on en voit souvent, qui est surnommé le château du fromage par rapport aux rochers sur lesquels il a été construit, mais ils n'ont rien d'impressionnant non plus.
