This cooperative was opened almost 50 years ago by students who wanted to have access to censored books during the Salazar regime. Many famous writers and publishers have been part of it. Rui, one of the masters of the place is passionate about literature and advises the best novels and poets of Portuguese literature. On Wednesday evenings, people meet to drink port wine, sing songs and poems, and dance to chorro music.
