LE TOUR DU PIC DU MIDI D’OSSAU
The departure from the village of Bious-Artigues is 4 km south of Awards. It leads to the discovery of beautiful landscapes and a rich fauna for 7 to 8 hours walking with a difference of 700 meters to the Col du Suzon and 280 meters to the Col pass. The Refuge hut is reached by a superb view on the moraine forming the Raillère raillère; from here you discover the Col de Peyrreget from which all the major peaks, Palas, Balaïtous, the peaks of Hell, Vignemale, the Lost Mount… and to the west, the glacial lakes of Ayous and the Aspe valley, and its peak of Anie. Passage to the Plateau plateau where you may have the chance to discover the Desman of the Pyrenees (also called "trompette", mammal of the family of talpidés).
