It is in the "Caillou de Soques", which begins this journey (8 km after Awards, towards the Col Pass) on the edge of the National Park and inside the lake of Arrious. An average of 3 hours is required to arrive at the CAF shelter open from June 1 st to September 30 th. Built in 1927, it is in the image of these first mountain shelters with a vaulted ceiling and thick walls. In this superb site, a vestige of the time when a large glacier climbs its bed in granite and polissait, the smooth and rounded side of the moutonnées, marmots and isards rocks can be observed. From the refuge you can take a few small walks to the Cols or Palas passes. Return two possibilities, return to the same path or return to Artouste and return to the train. The panorama and landscapes are worth the promenade, summer as well as winter skiing (for the daring).
