SAINT-FLORIN CHURCH
Church built, destroyed then rebuilt with a modern interior featuring beautiful stained glass windows in the Gothic choir.
Built in the 11th century on Roman foundations, the church of St. Florin in Koblenz is one of the oldest places of worship in the city. Damaged by the French in the 17th century, the church served as a warehouse for them a century later. Napoleon offered it to the city in 1807. Destroyed in 1944, it was rebuilt between 1950 and 1957. Its perfectly balanced interior is of modern design. Inside, admire the beautiful stained glass windows in the gothic choir.
