STOLZENFELS CASTLE
Romantic château featuring fine furnishings and a collection of period armor and weapons.
This is the last romantic castle in the Loreley Valley. Originally, it was a fortified customs post belonging to the prince-electors of Trier. Built in the 13th century, it was destroyed in 1688. It was rebuilt and restored by the Prussians between 1836 and 1842. Inside, you'll discover fine 19th-century furnishings and an admirable collection of period armor and weapons. It's an excursion to be undertaken in fine weather, to admire the countryside, river and mountains from the top of the crenellated towers.
