KLOSTER ANDECHS
Baroque Benedictine abbey with bulbous bell tower built 35 years after the Gothic church in Andechs in 1455.
In 1455, 35 years after the construction of a Gothic church, later modernised in the Baroque style, the Benedictine Abbey of Andechs was founded. It still has its baroque face with its bulbous bell tower. Since the same year, the monks have been brewing their famous beer here with a unique know-how. It is possible to have a tasting session. Six completely different types of beer are on offer, from Weissbier (white beer) to Dunkelbier (dark beer). Don't hesitate to try it, the quality of the beverage is truly exceptional!
