MÜNTER-HAUS
The artists W. Kandinsky (1866-1944) and G. Münter (1877-1962) lived in this charming house during the summer months from 1909 to 1914.
It was in this charming house, known as the "Russian House", that Kandinsky (1866-1944) and Gabriele Münter (1877-1962) lived during the summer months of 1909 to 1914. After their separation, Gabriele Münter continued to live there and remained there until her death in 1962. It was also in this house that the works and ideas of the artistic movement Der Blauer Reiter (Blue Rider) took shape. Each piece of furniture was decorated by the artist couple with a personal touch. Also worth seeing: a collection of Münter's paintings and a fine selection of photographs.
