GORNJE PODUNAVLJE NATURE RESERVE
Extending over a length of 75 km along the right bank of the Danube, this nature reserve has been protected since 2001 as an exceptional ecological site. Its 19,648 ha of natural forests, swamps and swarms have a rich and well protected ecosystem. First of all, birds, which you will find more than 260 species in total freedom. Pheasants and freshwater ducks are small game, because next to them they are born and evolved as rare as the hawk eagle and pink flames, not forgetting these migratory bird colonies such as cormorants and wild geese. The reserve also makes it possible to observe on the banks of countless water interrelays a whole fauna and flora of paradise: Dragonflies, religious mants and other insects lie here with lilies and rare flowers such as borka and even endemic flowers from the region, such as the rebratica. Finally, Gornje Podunavlje's reserve is famous for its biches and deer, 400 of which make the walkers a delight. This reserve is often referred to as a boat, rented in Monoštor or Apatin, to slip through the wonders of nature. (see also box "Tourism on the waterfront").
