Gothic building with stained glass windows depicting the town's history.
This is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception or Marien Dom. A 19th-century Gothic building of balanced proportions, it boasts a tower 134 m high, less than that of Vienna's Stephansdom - a model and benchmark that was forbidden to surpass - but nevertheless larger: 5,170 m². Admire its stained-glass windows, which depict the city's history. Look out for Beethoven and his brother, Johannes Kepler, Emperor Franz Joseph and even a Sissi-like Saint Elisabeth.
