PROVINCIAL HOUSE (LANDHAUS)
A Renaissance house housing the parliament and government, one of the courtyards features the Planetenbrunnen fountain.
This beautiful Renaissance building houses the parliament and government of the province of Upper Austria. Built in the 16th century on the site of a former monastery of the Friars Minor, it is adjoined by one of its preserved towers, dated 1568. One of the Landhaus courtyards is home to the Planetenbrunnen, a 16th-century fountain featuring bronze sculptures of the planets. Lined with three-storey arcades, this courtyard hosts classical concerts in summer. Guided tours available.
